Our guide
From coastal walks that start at the door to the Karst en Yesos gypsum reserve in Sorbas. A deliberately short selection: what we genuinely recommend doing outdoors around here.
This is an extract of our guide. The full guide, with 36 chapters, 131 tips and the area map, is exclusive to guests staying with us: it is handed over a few days before you arrive.

Here are 10. The guest guide has 18, with a tip for each.
Flat walk along the shore from Vera Playa to Garrucha's fishing harbour. No incline, buggy or elderly-friendly. At the harbour, fried-fish restaurants serve the area's best catch.
Walk north along the beach and low cliffs to Villaricos, where remains of a 3rd-century BC Phoenician and Roman colony stand. Ends at the Archaeological Park with views over the Almanzora delta.
A roughly 40-minute walk inland, climbing gently along the old road and rural track to Vera's historic centre. Ends at the 16th-century fortress-cathedral, built to withstand Berber raids.
An easy walk (no technical difficulty) along Mojácar Playa's Paseo del Mediterráneo to Garrucha's fishing harbour. No incline, great with kids. Arriving at the harbour with the fishing boats and fried-fish spots makes it a complete plan.
Linear coastal route between the cliffs of Mojácar and Macenas beach. Passes the 16th-century Torre del Pirulico watchtower and several viewpoints.
Coastal trail along cliffs to a remote cove with a 15th-century Nasrid castle and crystal-clear water. On arrival you'll find a small self-sufficient community selling coffee and fruit. No road access.
The Natural Park's most spectacular coastal route. Passes through the open bay of Los Genoveses and ends at Mónsul, with its black volcanic rocks and dune-sculpting waves. UNESCO World Heritage.
Murcia's largest natural area: century-old reforested pine woods and the Las Cámaras via ferrata and trail up to the Morrón de Totana, with Spanish ibex sightings almost guaranteed.
A landscape of gullies and badlands shaped by the erosion of marl and clay, with narrow canyons and formations that look like another planet. Quite unlike anything on the coast.
Karst canyon at the northern tip of Granada province, with the Castril river rising between limestone walls, waterfalls and wooden walkways over the water. Natural Park.
Here are 2. The guest guide has 3, with a tip for each.
Outdoor karting track in Garrucha. Separate adult and children's karts. Distance: ~10 min by car from Vera Playa.
Cable ski on the former rowing canal of the 2005 Mediterranean Games, next to the Cuevas del Almanzora reservoir. Reopened in 2019 as Lunar Cable Park. No boat, no wake, the cable pulls you along. Distance: ~20 km / 24 min from Vera Playa by local road via Vera and Cuevas del Almanzora.
What you see here anyone can read: what each place is, what is good about it and how far it is. It is the part that can be put in writing.
The rest is not learned by reading: it is learned by coming back, year after year. What time to arrive at each cove to find a spot. What to order at each table. Where to actually park in August. And the discounts we have negotiated with local businesses for guests who book direct.
Handed over a few days before arrival, along with everything about the apartment: from the wifi to the on-call pharmacy. Three homes in Vera Playa, run by us, with no platform commissions.
